Construction FRP Profile UPR
Key Features
- Optimized for pultrusion of structural construction profiles
- Meets EN 13706 and ASTM D3918 structural profile standards
- Available in FR grades for fire-rated construction applications
- Good alkaline resistance for concrete contact applications
- UV stabilizer variants for exterior construction profiles
Construction FRP Profile UPR is a specially formulated orthophthalic or isophthalic UPR designed for the manufacture of pultruded FRP structural profiles used in the construction industry, including bridge decking, access platforms, stairways, handrails, and structural members. The resin balances processability in pultrusion with the stiffness and durability required by civil engineering design standards.
The resin provides good dimensional stability, UV resistance (with added UV stabilizers), and resistance to moisture, alkaline environments (concrete contact), and mild chemicals encountered in construction environments. Flexural modulus of pultruded profiles at 60% glass content is 28-35 GPa, with flexural strength of 380-500 MPa, meeting EN 13706, ASTM D3918, and ASCE guidelines for FRP structural profiles.
Viscosity at 25°C is 200-400 mPa·s, suitable for pultrusion die temperatures of 130-170°C with BPO/TBPB initiator systems. Flame retardant grades with V-0 surface requirements are available through ATH or halogenated resin modifications. Construction FRP profiles made with this resin carry ISO 14692 and EN 13706 certification documentation.
