Marine Composites
Resins and materials for boat building and marine structures
Marine composite manufacturing prioritizes water resistance, osmotic blister resistance, and long-term structural integrity. Isophthalic and NPG-isophthalic UPR are the workhorses for boat hulls and decks due to their superior hydrolytic stability. Vinyl ester resins provide the highest resistance to osmotic blistering and are specified for premium vessels and underwater structures. Isophthalic gelcoats protect the cosmetic layer against water absorption and UV degradation.
