Key Features

  • Tolerates light moisture on FRP surfaces — ideal for boatyard conditions
  • Maintains ≥14 MPa shear strength in underwater service
  • Corrosion inhibitors for use near metal hardware
  • High T-peel (≥5 kN/m) for joint flexibility
  • Qualified to EN ISO 11225 marine joint bonding requirements

This marine seam bonding adhesive is a two-component MMA-based structural adhesive specifically formulated for the high-strength, moisture-resistant bonding of hull seams, bulkhead-to-hull joints, deck-to-hull junctions, and stringer bonding in fiberglass boat construction. The adhesive is optimized for bonding wet or slightly damp FRP surfaces — a common situation in boatyard environments — while maintaining tensile shear strength ≥14 MPa in underwater service conditions. T-peel strength ≥5 kN/m. The formulation includes corrosion inhibitors for use around metal hardware and fastenings. Mix ratio 10:1 by volume. Open time 15–25 min at 23°C with full cure in 24 hours at room temperature. Service temperature -40°C to +90°C. Resistant to bilge water, fuel, oil, and salt water after cure. Available in white and gray colors suitable for marine interior and exterior applications. The product is qualified to EN ISO 11225 for bonded marine joint requirements.

FAQ

The adhesive tolerates surface moisture at a level where the surface is visibly damp but does not have standing water or active water flow. 'Wipe dry' conditions — surface wiped but still has some absorbed moisture in the surface layer — are acceptable. Surfaces with visible water droplets, condensation, or running water should be dried with a heat gun or by wiping and allowed to surface-dry before application. Submerged or continuously wet surfaces should not be bonded with MMA; use underwater epoxy systems instead.
