This MMA adhesive gel paste is a highly thixotropic two-component MMA formulation engineered for application on vertical surfaces, overhead positions, and complex geometry joints where standard lower-viscosity MMA adhesives would slump or drip during the open time. The non-sag gel consistency maintains bead shape and position on vertical surfaces for the full 15-minute open time at 23°C. Tensile shear strength ≥16 MPa on FRP and metal substrates. T-peel strength ≥5 kN/m. Mix ratio 10:1. Full cure at room temperature in 24 hours. The gel paste format is ideal for fillet bonding, seam bonding on hull sides and frames, and structural bonding of stiffeners and frames in vertical or overhead positions during marine vessel construction and repair. Also suitable for large FRP assemblies where the joint geometry prevents consistent adhesive containment with liquid grades.

Applications

Standard MMA adhesives have viscosities of 30,000–100,000 mPa·s and some sag resistance. This gel paste has over 5x higher apparent viscosity and a strong thixotropic recovery, meaning it resists flow under gravity for the full open time on vertical surfaces. It flows readily under shear during dispenser application, then recovers its gel structure within seconds of dispensing.
