E-glass Woven Roving 800 g/m²
Key Features
- Fast build rate on large flat laminates
- Reduces ply count and labor hours vs 600 g/m²
- Balanced 0°/90° strength
- UPR/VE compatible for hand layup and infusion
- Roll-to-roll dimensional stability for repeatable ply geometry
E-glass Woven Roving 800 g/m² is a heavier plain-weave fabric woven from 4800 tex E-glass rovings (or 2400 tex in a denser weave), built for fast-build hand layup of large flat panels, boat decks, cabin tops, and heavy industrial FRP. Areal weight is 800 g/m² (±5%), balanced warp/weft, supplied in 1000 mm and 1270 mm widths with 50 m or 100 m roll lengths on cardboard cores.
The higher per-ply thickness reduces total ply count on large laminates by roughly 30% compared with 600 g/m² fabric, lowering labor hours and resin uptake on production yards. The silane sizing is UPR/VE-compatible, with rapid wet-out achievable by roller and brush. Moisture is held to ≤0.2%. The fabric is dimensionally stable roll-to-roll, supports automated cutting, and is the workhorse outer/mid-layer for marine hand layup over a CSM tie coat.

Applications
FAQ
4800 tex weave has fewer, larger yarns per unit width — more open weave, faster wet-out, and easier debulking. 2400 tex dense weave at the same areal weight has finer yarns and tighter weave — better surface cosmetics under gelcoat and slightly higher inter-laminar shear strength. Choose 4800 tex for production hand layup speed; choose 2400 tex dense weave when surface quality drives the spec.
