Key Features

  • Balanced 0°/90° strength for biaxial loading
  • Fast UPR/VE wet-out by brush, roller, and infusion
  • Low fuzz, clean handling on cutting tables
  • Roll-to-roll dimensional stability for repeatable ply geometry
  • Selvedge edge supports automated nesting

E-glass Woven Roving 600 g/m² is a plain-weave, 0°/90° balanced fabric woven from 2400 tex E-glass direct rovings, designed as the primary reinforcement for hand layup and vacuum infusion of marine FRP, storage tank inner layers, and FRP swimming pool molds. Areal weight is 600 g/m² (±5%) with warp and weft balanced at 2400 tex each, providing equal mechanical contribution in both principal directions. Standard widths are 1000 mm and 1270 mm with roll lengths of 50 m or 100 m on cardboard cores.

The silane sizing is engineered for compatibility with unsaturated polyester (UPR) and vinyl ester (VE) resin systems, achieving rapid wet-out under brush, roller, or infusion. Moisture is held to ≤0.2% to avoid void formation in laminates and to maintain dimensional stability roll-to-roll. The fabric is supplied with cut-edge selvedge and low fuzz, suitable for both production hand layup and shop-floor cutting on automated nesting tables.

FAQ

600 g/m² lays up faster and conforms to curves better; preferred for boat hull intermediate layers, complex molds, and parts where finish quality matters. 800 g/m² builds thickness faster per ply and reduces total ply count for flat decks, large outer-mid laminates, and thicker structural sections. Many shops stock both and alternate 600/800 plies to balance conformability and build rate.
