Key Features

  • Multi-resin compatibility (epoxy, UPR, VE) — single SKU covers wind, pipe, pultrusion
  • Excellent fiber-resin wet-out under filament winding and infusion
  • Low fuzz generation at high winding line speeds (>1.5 m/s)
  • Tex CV ≤3% supports stable cure exotherm and consistent laminate properties
  • Single-end direct roving — no creel rewinding, less broken filament

E-glass Direct Roving 2400 tex is a single-end continuous glass fiber roving wound directly from the bushing without intermediate creel assembly, optimized for filament winding, pultrusion, and unidirectional fabric weaving. Linear density is 2400 tex (g/km) with tex CV ≤3%, providing consistent fiber-resin volume ratio across long production runs. Filament diameter is 17 μm and single-filament tensile strength is ≥3400 MPa, with ignition loss (LOI) controlled in the 0.45–0.65% range to balance wet-out and inter-laminar shear strength.

The silane-based sizing is compatible with epoxy, unsaturated polyester (UPR), and vinyl ester (VE) resin systems, allowing one inventory grade to serve wind blade root, FRP pressure pipe winding, and structural pultrusion lines. Moisture content is held to ≤0.1% to prevent void formation in autoclave and infusion cures. The roving runs at high winding speeds with low fuzz generation, supporting continuous filament winding cycles without bath contamination.

FAQ

Tex denotes linear density (g/km), so 4800 tex carries twice the glass per filament length as 2400 tex. 2400 tex is the workhorse for wind blade root, FRP pressure pipe winding (DN 100–500 mm), and unidirectional fabric weaving where moderate fiber count per yarn is needed. 4800 tex is preferred for thick-section pultrusion (FRP rebar, large profiles) and large-diameter pipe winding where high glass loading per pass reduces total wraps required and lowers cure exotherm in heavy laminates.
