In StockSample available

Key Features

  • One-component — no mixing, no mess, precise bond line control
  • Latent DICY cure dormant at RT — 30-day out-life
  • High tensile shear strength (25–35 MPa) for structural joints
  • Film format ensures uniform adhesive coverage
  • Suitable for autoclave and oven cure cycles

This one-component heat-cure epoxy film adhesive is supplied as a supported film on a carrier fabric, allowing precise and consistent bond line thickness control without mixing. The adhesive is catalyzed with a latent dicyandiamide (DICY) curing agent that remains dormant at room temperature, providing indefinite shelf life at -18°C (frozen storage) and up to 30 days out-time at room temperature. Cure is triggered at 120–130°C in 60–90 minutes or at 175°C in 5–10 minutes for fast cure cycles. The cured adhesive provides tensile shear strength of 25–35 MPa on metal substrates and exceeds 30 MPa on composite-to-metal joints. Peel strength is 250–400 N/25 mm (climbing drum, ASTM D1781). Film thickness is typically 0.12–0.25 mm. The product is used in aerospace, defense, automotive, and high-performance marine bonding where consistent, high-strength adhesive joints are required. Available with carrier cloth or unsupported film format.

FAQ

The film is cut to the bond area shape and placed between the adherends. For autoclave processing, the assembly is vacuum-bagged and cured at the specified pressure (typically 0.3–0.7 MPa) and temperature cycle. For oven cure, the joint is clamped and placed in the oven. The carrier fabric maintains bond line thickness uniformity. Remove frozen film from cold storage and allow to reach room temperature (still sealed in bag) before opening to prevent moisture condensation on the adhesive.
