5-Minute Field Repair Epoxy for Drone Structures
Key Features
- Handling strength in 5 minutes at 23°C — drone returns to service within one flight cycle
- Lap shear 15–20 MPa on aluminum and CFRP satisfies non-primary-structure repair requirements
- Thixotropic paste — applies to vertical and overhead surfaces without dripping
- 1:1 volume ratio dual cartridge eliminates field mixing errors; static nozzle ensures consistent mixing
- Application temperature 5–40°C covers early-morning mountain to hot-season agricultural environments
- Fuel and mild agricultural chemical resistant — stable in operational splash exposure
A rapid-setting two-component epoxy adhesive designed for on-site emergency structural repair of drone frames, propeller arms, landing gear, and payload brackets. The formulation achieves handling strength within 5 minutes at 23°C and full structural strength within 60 minutes, enabling a drone to return to service within one flight cycle — critical for agricultural spray and inspection operations where aircraft downtime has direct operational cost impact.
Despite the ultra-fast cure, lap shear strength of 15–20 MPa on aluminum and carbon fiber substrates meets structural repair requirements for all non-primary-structure drone components. The thixotropic, non-sag consistency allows the adhesive to be applied to vertical and overhead drone joint surfaces without dripping, and the convenient dual-cartridge packaging with static mix nozzle eliminates field mixing errors.
The formulation is designed for a wide application temperature range of 5–40°C, covering most field deployment environments from early-morning mountain operations to hot-season agricultural work. Cured joints are resistant to fuel, hydraulic fluid, and mild agricultural chemical splash. Mix ratio is 1:1 by volume.

FAQ
For primary structural joints (main boom, central frame plate connections), this 5-minute epoxy should be used as an emergency field fix only — enough to ferry the drone safely to a workshop for a proper structural repair. The 15–20 MPa lap shear is adequate for many loads, but the 5-minute working time prevents thorough surface preparation and fiber bridging that a permanent repair requires. A permanent repair should use a slower-cure, toughened structural epoxy (60–90 minute working time) with CF cloth patches properly laminated and allowed to full-cure overnight.
