Polyethylene Wax Emulsion Release Agent

In StockSample available

Key Features

  • Water-based PE wax — no solvents, low VOC for EHS compliance
  • Sprayable for fast, uniform coverage on large mold surfaces
  • 3–6 releases per application for production efficiency
  • Water dilutable for application viscosity adjustment
  • Non-flammable and low odor for improved workplace safety

This polyethylene (PE) wax emulsion release agent provides a durable, water-dispersed wax release film suitable for polyester and vinyl ester composite production. Unlike carnauba paste wax, this water-based PE wax emulsion applies quickly by spray or wipe, dries to a consistent film at ambient temperature, and does not require solvent-based carriers. Particularly suitable for facilities where solvent use is restricted by environmental health and safety regulations. The PE wax provides a semi-hard film with moderate release durability — 3–6 releases per application — and is compatible with all standard gelcoat and resin systems. The emulsion does not settle rapidly in the container and can be diluted with water to adjust film thickness and application viscosity. Suitable for ambient temperature cure open mold processes. Not recommended for elevated-temperature cure, closed mold, or high-pressure injection processes. The product is non-flammable, has low odor, and is compatible with waterborne gelcoat systems.

FAQ

Yes. The PE wax emulsion can be applied by conventional spray gun (HVLP or conventional air atomization) at working viscosity or slightly diluted with water. Spray application provides the most uniform coverage on large molds. Use a medium-fine nozzle (1.5–1.8mm) and apply in even strokes. Allow 5–10 minutes to dry before buffing. Wipe buffing with a clean cloth produces a clear, thin film. Do not apply too thick — apply in 2–3 thin spray coats rather than 1 heavy coat.
