Carnauba Liquid Wax Mold Release

In StockSample available

Key Features

  • Liquid formulation for fast, even coverage on large molds
  • Carnauba wax chemistry for high gloss and durable release film
  • 3–5 releases per application with easy cloth/sponge application
  • Better penetration into complex mold geometries than paste wax
  • Compatible with polyester, vinyl ester, and RT-cure epoxy

This liquid carnauba wax release agent provides the same high-gloss, durable release performance as carnauba paste wax in a liquid formulation for faster application and improved coverage on large mold surfaces. The solvent-dispersed carnauba wax applies quickly by cloth or sponge applicator, spreads uniformly across complex mold geometries, and buffs to a high-gloss film with minimal effort. Particularly effective for large open molds such as boat hulls, wind blade molds (small to medium), pools, and automotive body panels where paste wax application is impractical due to the mold size. Provides 3–5 releases per application cycle. Compatible with polyester, vinyl ester, and room-temperature cure epoxy resins. The liquid formulation penetrates mold surface microstructure more readily than paste wax, improving the release film uniformity on textured or semi-polished mold surfaces. Suitable for ambient temperature cure processes up to 60°C. Not recommended for autoclave, RTM, or elevated-temperature cure applications.

FAQ

Liquid wax applies faster and more uniformly on large mold surfaces. Paste wax applied to a 10-meter boat hull mold requires significant manual effort and can result in uneven film thickness in recesses and corners. Liquid wax spreads more readily and penetrates complex geometries better. The tradeoff is that liquid wax typically has slightly lower carnauba wax concentration than paste, so the number of releases per application is similar (3–5) but the film may build slightly slower on new molds.
