This carnauba-based paste wax mold release is a traditional, proven release agent for open mold hand layup and spray-up composite production. Formulated with high-purity Brazilian carnauba wax blended with refined hydrocarbon solvents, it provides a durable, high-gloss release film that is suitable for polyester and epoxy laminating resins. Applied by hand with a soft cloth and buffed to a clear, thin film. Provides 3–5 releases per wax application on well-prepared gelcoat and laminate molds. Compatible with all gelcoat and resin pigment systems — does not cause discoloration or blush on part surfaces. This wax release is the preferred choice for cosmetic class-A finish production, boat building, sanitaryware, and custom composite part production. Suitable for new mold seasoning in combination with a mold sealer. Not recommended for elevated-temperature cure applications above 60°C, RTM, or infusion processes. Carnauba wax provides a harder, more durable film than paraffin wax and delivers superior surface gloss to the molded part.

FAQ

For a new mold, first apply 2 coats of mold sealer (allow full cure between coats), then apply carnauba wax in thin circular motions, allow 3–5 minutes to haze, and buff to a clear gloss film. Repeat the wax application 4–6 times before the first production part. Apply 1–2 additional wax coats every 3–5 releases in production. The seasoning process builds a durable wax film in the mold surface microstructure.
