PVA Release Agent 10% Solution
Key Features
- 10% PVA — maximum film thickness for durability and release count
- 4–6 releases per application for high-cycle production
- Suitable for textured, semi-polished, and repaired mold surfaces
- Thick film covers surface microporosity on lower-quality molds
- Water-soluble — parts wash clean easily, no surface contamination
This 10% polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) aqueous release agent is the high-concentration grade formulated for production FRP applications where maximum release film thickness, durability, and release count per application are required. The 10% PVA concentration builds a substantially thicker film than 3% or 5% grades, providing 4–6 releases per application on production molds. Particularly suited for textured or semi-polished molds where a thicker release film is needed to fill surface microporosity, large parts where release film integrity over the full surface is critical, and high-cycle production where frequent re-application is to be minimized. Also suitable for lower-quality or repaired mold surfaces that cannot be polished to a high gloss. Compatible with polyester, vinyl ester, and epoxy resins. PVA film dissolves in water — parts can be washed to remove PVA residue before bonding or painting. The product is supplied ready-to-use; do not dilute. Not recommended for elevated temperature cure, RTM closed mold, or infusion processes.

FAQ
A thicker PVA film (10% vs 3%) can marginally reduce the surface gloss on high-polish molds because the thicker film slightly softens the mold surface detail replication. For Class-A cosmetic surface parts on polished gelcoated molds, 3% or 5% PVA is preferred. 10% PVA is recommended when the primary objective is production efficiency (release count) or when the mold surface quality is not polished to class-A standard. The trade-off between surface gloss and release count per application determines which grade to use.
