Polyamide 6 (PA6) Composites Resin
Key Features
- High strength-to-weight ratio vs metals
- Good chemical resistance to oils and fuels
- Fast injection molding cycle times
- Recyclable — supports circular economy
- Wide glass fiber reinforcement compatibility
Polyamide 6 (PA6) is a semi-crystalline thermoplastic widely used as a matrix resin for short and long glass fiber reinforced composites. PA6-GF30 and PA6-GF50 grades are workhorses for structural automotive, electrical, and industrial applications, offering high strength-to-weight ratio, good chemical resistance, and excellent processability. PA6 composites are produced by injection molding, extrusion, and thermoplastic pultrusion. Key advantages include recyclability and fast processing cycles.

Applications
FAQ
PA6 is hygroscopic. At 50% RH equilibrium, tensile strength drops ~15-20% and flexural modulus drops ~25-30% vs dry state. Design calculations should use conditioned property values.
