UV-Cure Gelcoat (White, Outdoor)

In StockSample available

Key Features

  • UV cure in seconds for high-speed outdoor panel production
  • Integrated HALS + UVA stabilizers for outdoor weathering resistance
  • Bright white TiO₂ pigmentation with full opacity
  • Low styrene for reduced VOC in production environments
  • High initial gloss (80–95 GU) maintained under outdoor exposure

This white UV-cure gelcoat is a photoinitiator-activated polyester or acrylate-based formulation pigmented with titanium dioxide and enhanced with UV stabilizers for use in outdoor composite applications. It delivers the production speed advantages of UV cure technology while providing weather resistance and color stability for exterior applications including roofing panels, cladding, and outdoor furniture. UV cure at 100 mW/cm² (365 nm) achieves full surface cure in 5–30 seconds, enabling high-throughput production. The titanium dioxide pigment provides full white opacity at 0.1–0.15 mm film thickness. HALS and benzotriazole UV absorbers are incorporated into the formulation to protect the cured film from photodegradation and chalking under outdoor conditions. Pencil hardness after UV cure is 2H–3H. The product is applied by curtain coat or roller coat at 100–200 g/m². Low styrene or styrene-free formulation available for production environments with strict VOC controls. Compatible with standard polyester and vinyl ester laminates as the backing structural layer in continuous panel production.

FAQ

UV-cure acrylate-modified gelcoats, when formulated with HALS and UV absorbers, can match or exceed the outdoor gloss retention of isophthalic polyester gelcoats. The acrylate crosslink structure is inherently more UV-stable than the aromatic polyester backbone. However, the quality of the UV stabilizer package is critical — a poorly stabilized UV-cure gelcoat can actually yellow faster than an iso gelcoat. This product is specifically formulated with a full outdoor-grade UV stabilizer package.
